Parent Clinics
I will be holding 2 parent clinics the first week in March. It has been a few years since we have last done these and it is time we bring this program back.
Included in these clinics will be information on what you need for each team level, a road map to testing and what you need to skate on a good college team. These clinics will be divided by team levels. Skaters are welcome to attend with the parents. The schedule for these clinics are as follows:

Novice, Open Juvenile, Juvenile
Thursday March 7, 2013 7:15 PM Meeting Room A
Beginner, Preliminary, Pre-Juvenile

Summer Camps - August vs. June
I know a number of you need to turn in your summer vacation schedule and want to know when we will be having our Boot Camps. Normally we have them the last two weeks in June. This year that won't happen, as the rink will be installing brand new compressors. The rink will shut down the moment the Ice Show is over and the plans are to have ice on July 8th. Currently our plans are to hold our 6 week summer clinics, starting on July 15th.
The Boot Camp Schedule looks to be as follows:
July 29th - August 2nd for the Juvenile and above teams
August 12th - 16th for the Beginner, Preliminary and Pre-Juvenile level teams.

The reasoning behind this schedule is that it fits around the Learn-to-Skate Camp schedule and for the older skaters, Band Camps will begin in early August. Because the Boot Camps are late, we will use them this year to build the new competition programs.
Please keep in mind, the moment I send this is the moment I will get a call saying everything has changed. But for now, this is the information I currently have and I wanted to let you know so you can adjust your vacation time.

Payments
Don't forget that payments are now due on the 15th of each month. The payments can be sent to the P.O Box, left in the Lockbox at the rink, or you can use your online bill pay through your bank to send the payment.
Please let Anna know if you expect payments from fundraiser opportunities so that she can notate it on your records.

Skating Reports
During the month of August, 2012, Alissa will be preparing report cards on all skaters except the Beginner team. The purpose of these report cards is to identify weaker areas in each skater's abilities.
It is our hope that skaters will work on these abilities either on their own or with the assistance of their private coach. Towards the end of the season, a follow up report card will be issued so any progress can be recognized.
Please keep in mind, every skater's report card is private. Please do not share with other skaters so that we can keep this as a positive and helpful tool.
*** Update: During 2013 spring clinics, those that haven't gotten reports yet will be reviewed. It will give Alyssa a better feel for the individual skating ability of each skater.

Lock Box
The Edges now have a secured lockbox located at the back of the rink on the wall next to the storage cabinet.
Payments (checks only, please) and test applications and fees can be placed inside.
The Treasurer and Test Chair will check the box regularly.

Absence Form
You can download the CESC Absence Form here. Printed forms are also available from your Team Manager.
Absence forms are to be completed and submitted to Jeff at least 2 weeks prior to any scheduled absence.
